Hot with a layout

We have the most marvellous wather right now. Over 32 degrees Celcius here this week, and that doesn´t happen every year. We have been hanging on the beach every day this week. Wonderful!!! Well, hanging by the craft table actually works when it´s hot, so I spent the evenings crafting. This layout was made for the Open House Summer Crop at Cocoa Daisy.

All material from Cocoa Daisys July kit.

Paper Wings Guest Designer - Card Set

Today I am showing you a card set made with the Tea Time July Nesting Components Mixed Media kit.

Both card has a brown cardstock as it´s base. I choose to use different patterned papers from the paper pad that comes with the kit. To match the cards I choose to use leftovers from one card on the other card. I also used the same ribbons, paints and gesso.

For this card I used one of the pictures from the clip art sheet. I have distressed it a bit on the edges to create texture. I don´t like my cards to flat. The ATC chipboard frame from Um Wow Studios made it´s way up on the top of the card. It´s partly covered with gesso. The Swirl stamps turned out nice stamped and embossed with white embossing powder. I have used the same techniques on the card below, gesso on the chipbard, embossing and splatters of mist and paint. It looks totally different though even though the material is the same.

After finishing my card I had some paper strips left. Instead of throwing them away, used them for a set of tags. I used the same materials on these as on the cards.

Linnie Blooms Tag

Since July has a patriotic challenge here at Linnie Blooms I thought I go trough it almost all the way. Therefore I did create this sweet tag with Swedish colors (blue & yellow). I made the flowers and leaves by using the Bloom Stencil and mask.

ScrapPlezier DT - Dream

I made this layout with a picture of my daughter using Papers from Keisercraft. The background is "Anne" from the Pennyroyale Collection. And the other patterned papers are "Wendy""Jane" and "Everlyn". They are all on sale now - so get the chance to strike a bargain. I have paints, ink and gesso on this page as well. You could aschive the same effect using Acrylic Paint dabbers from RangerDylusions sprays,  and Muliti Medium

I have also used the Soft Summer Nesting Componens Kit from Paper Wings and one of their gorgeous background stamps - The fringe lace clear stamp.

I hope I can give you inspration to buy some paints and mediums and try them out! Don´t be afraid of the mess!

Pillowcase for Linnie Blooms

When  got my new Linnie Blooms stencils I got the idea to use them for a home decoration project. I had a old vintage pillow case lying around that was in a bit of bad shape. But since it was a heritage piece I didn´t want to trow it away. So I came up with the idea of using the stencils to create a embroidery pattern.

I used the stencil to create my tree and then the fish/owl to sit underneath it. As you can see I have extended the branch so that it forms the base of the tree instead.

And here is my finished result.

As you can see on the closeup below I have made the owl by applying a felt owl.

Hope you get some new ideas on how to use the stencils/masks.
