Paper Wings Productions Guest Designer - Seaside stamps

I just love the stamp set from Paper Wings, so today I have chosen to shed the light on the Seaside Cling Stamp Set. I love how versatile it is. Use the stamps as background, as the focal point, on a card, on a layout, a canvas - the imagination is just the limit.

I have used the Lighthouse as a focal point on both the card above and the tag down below. If you look close you can see that I have used the shellfish & the fish as background stamps on the card. I have also randomly stamped with the sentence stamp on both the card and the tag. I get the random locking effect by NOT using a acrylic block. I just hold the stamp between my fingers, dab it on the stamp pad and then on the project, NOT pushing on the entire stamp.

The sentence speaks for itself so I have chose to use quite little embellishments on this tag. Just the old,old chipboard frame, a couple of mini roses, rhinestones and some tread.

Celebrate Home Canvas for Linnie Blooms

I love messing with paint and stamps. When my DT pack arrived from Linda I immediately knew what to do with the frame and canvas piece she sent me.

The canvas piece that the frame holds was covered in gesso before I applied different colors of Ayeeda mists. When the gesso and mist was dry, I added a bit of modelling paste trough a stencil. After some more driying time the stamping was added with a permanent black ink. the chipboard frame was painted with silver glitter paint and the flowers with spray ink added with a brush.

Enjoy!

Africa? Paper Wings Productions Guest Designer

Today I´m going to take you trough the process of building a mixed media style scrapbooking page by using pieces from the Soft Summer Nesting Components kit together with Paper Wings stamps.

I started off my project by applying thin gesso over a plain cardstock. This makes the cardstock stif and more resistant to water. I use a spatula to spread the gesso and don´t mind if it gets uneaven. Most of the time I use a heat gun to speed the drying process.

When the gesso and cardstock are completely dry it´s time for the fun part - paint, ink and stamps! First of all I spray water over the cardstock (on both sides). This keeps it from bending to much when applying ink. I ramdomly sprayed on mist in different colors, after drying I started stamping randomly with the background stamps from Paper Wings. Before the stamping ink was dry, I added more water to get a watercolor effect. You can see how wet it was before drying on the last picture above.

When I felt happy with my background I left it to dry again. When dry I started adding more stamped details as well as cut out paper details. I sort of build my pages step by step. First a bit of ink, then some stamps, a bit more ink, some paper pieces, more stamps etc. You get it. After some more drying (it takes a while to create a page like this one....) I started to add my decorations.

I love how the wings turned out on the page!

And this is what the finished page looks like. Hope you enjoyed my step by step!
